What BetChecker knows
BetChecker has no independently checked win-loss record for Action Network. A record you see in an ad or on a sales page is the seller's own unless someone outside the business verified it.
Action Network is a large US sports betting media and tools company. It publishes betting analysis and expert picks, and sells subscriptions such as Action PRO.
Better Collective agreed to buy it for $240 million in 2021, according to iGaming Business. Trade reports from that sale said its income came from two places: referrals to sportsbooks (affiliate fees) and subscriptions, with sportsbooks such as BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel and PointsBet named as partners. BetChecker has not checked how that mix looks today.
A publisher that earns when readers sign up with a sportsbook has a different incentive from one that only sells picks. Neither tells you whether a given analyst's picks beat the closing line.
BetChecker has not independently checked the results of picks published or sold by Action Network or its analysts. If you follow one analyst, check that person's record, not the brand's.

Know what you're buying
You probably have a reason for every bet. Keep it. We do not judge your pick.
We check one thing: what you are paid, compared with the chance it wins. A big payout is not a good bet. A big payout for the chance is.
Follow whoever you like. Premium keeps score. A year of Premium is $59, about what one month of a typical pick service costs. Pick services we looked at charge $20 to $100 a month, and the middle is around $45.

Your tout has to win 62 of every 100 picks just for you to break even.
With no fee it is 52 of 100, at the standard price (−110). The fee adds about $4.62 to every $25 bet. Your real prices change these numbers a little.
Before you pay, ask
1.
Can I see every pick, with the date it was posted and the odds at the time?
2.
Has anyone outside the business checked that record?
3.
What is the record after the fee I pay?
4.
What odds do the results assume? A pick at -110 is a different bet at -125.
