The payout is simple: the total back if the bet wins, including your stake, and the profit on top. At +150 a $100 bet returns $250, which is $150 profit plus your $100 back. At -110 a $110 bet returns $210, which is $100 profit.
A big payout feels like a good bet, but it is only the reward side of the trade. The other side is how often the bet has to win to be worth it, which is the break-even chance baked into the same price.
Knowing the payout is the first step. The next is asking whether the bet wins often enough to justify it, which is a question about the price against the market's fair price, not about the size of the number.
A large payout means a long shot, not a good bet. What makes a bet good is the price beating the market's fair price.
