The Million Dollar Challenge
Official rules
Effective October 27, 2026. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
1. Sponsor
The Million Dollar Challenge (the "Challenge") is offered by Know Your Tout LLC ("Sponsor"), which runs BetChecker. Questions: info@knowyourtout.com.
2. No purchase necessary
Entry is free. No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter, to take part or to win, and paying for anything does not improve the chance of winning. Sponsor gives each entrant a BetChecker Premium account free of charge for the challenge year.
3. Who can enter
The Challenge is open only to individuals who are legal residents of the United States, are 21 or older, and sell, or have sold, sports betting picks or betting advice for money, under their own name or a business name they control ("tout"). Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Not eligible: employees, contractors and owners of Sponsor, their immediate families and members of their households, and anyone who has received payment from Sponsor.
One entry per person. A business may enter only through one named individual who controls it, and that person may not also enter on their own.
4. How to enter
Go to outtout.com (or betchecker.app/challenge) and send Sponsor the website where you sell picks. Sponsor confirms that the website sells picks under your name, verifies your identity and age, and sets up your free Premium account. You must agree to these rules, to the audit and to publication (rule 10) before your challenge year starts.
The entry period is open until Sponsor closes it. Sponsor will give 30 days' notice on betchecker.app/challenge before closing it. Closing it does not affect entries already under way.
5. The challenge year
Your challenge year is 365 consecutive days, starting on the first day after your entry is confirmed, at 12:00 a.m. US Eastern time. Each "day" runs from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. US Eastern time.
Each day you must post exactly 3 picks. A day with fewer than 3 picks forfeits your entry, and the Challenge ends for you. Exception: on a day with fewer than 3 eligible games (rule 6), you must post one pick for each eligible game. Sponsor publishes each day's count of eligible games.
A pick that is later voided (rules 6, 7 and 8) still counts as posted for its day.
6. What counts as a pick
A pick is a pre-game bet on a full game: a point spread, a total (over/under) or a moneyline, in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, WNBA, NCAA Division I football or NCAA Division I men's basketball.
An "eligible game" is a game in those leagues for which the reference market (rule 8) is posting a two-sided price for that bet when the pick is posted.
Not eligible: parlays, teasers, props, futures, live or in-game bets, halves, quarters, periods or innings, and alternate lines. A pick must be at the line the reference market is posting when the pick is posted; a pick at any other line is void.
Each pick states the side, the line, the price in American odds, and a sportsbook licensed in the United States that is offering it.
7. Posting picks
Picks are posted only through your Premium account in the BetChecker app or website. The time of a pick is BetChecker's server time when it is received.
A pick must be received at least 10 minutes before the game's scheduled start. A pick received later is void.
A pick cannot be edited, withdrawn or deleted once posted.
Price check: when a pick is posted, Sponsor checks the stated price against the named sportsbook through its odds feed. If that sportsbook is offering the pick at the stated price or better, the pick is graded at the stated price. If it is offering the same line at a worse price, the pick is graded at that worse price. If it is not offering that line, the pick is void.
8. How picks are graded
Reference market: Pinnacle's prices, as reported by The Odds API (the-odds-api.com). The fair chance of a side is the chance implied by its price, divided by the sum of the chances implied by both sides' prices.
Closing price: the reference market's last price for that bet captured before the game's scheduled start. If no closing price is captured, the last price captured after the pick was posted is used.
Price score: for each pick, the fair closing chance minus the chance implied by the graded price, in percentage points. A positive score means the pick's price was better than the market's fair closing price. If the reference market's closing line differs from the pick's line, that pick's price score is zero.
Result: win, loss or push, from the official final score. A push, and a game canceled or postponed by more than 24 hours, is void.
Money: every non-void pick is graded as a $100 bet at the graded price. Units, stars, ratings and confidence labels are ignored.
9. How a tout wins
You win if, at the end of a challenge year in which you posted every day as rule 5 requires, all of these are true:
(a) You have at least 1,000 non-void picks.
(b) Beat the close: the average price score of your non-void picks is greater than zero by at least 3.5 standard errors. The standard error is the standard deviation of those price scores divided by the square root of their number.
(c) Make money: your total profit at $100 a pick, at the graded prices, is greater than zero.
(d) You have complied with these rules.
10. Audit and publication
By entering, you agree that Sponsor may publish every pick you post, its price score and its result, daily, from your first pick, together with your name, business name and website, whether you win, lose, forfeit or withdraw. Nothing is deleted.
Sponsor says plainly when a record is too short to tell skill from luck.
11. The prize
Each entrant who wins under rule 9 receives $1,000,000 (one million US dollars) from Sponsor. There is no limit on the number of winners.
Before payment, a winner must sign an affidavit of eligibility and compliance and a publicity release, and provide a completed IRS Form W-9, within 30 days of Sponsor's request. Sponsor pays the prize in a lump sum within 90 days of receiving them. The prize is not transferable. Winners are responsible for all taxes; Sponsor issues the tax forms the law requires.
12. Changes
Sponsor may change these rules for entries that have not yet started, by posting the change on this page with a new effective date. A change never applies to an entry already under way: it runs to the end of its challenge year under the rules in effect when it started.
13. Disqualification
Sponsor may disqualify an entrant who uses more than one account or shares an account, has picks posted by anyone else, uses information about a game after it starts, interferes or tries to interfere with the app, the grading or the odds feed, or misrepresents anything at entry. Sponsor will state the reason publicly.
14. Errors and disputes
The odds feed and official scores are final, except for an error that is shown and corrected publicly. Anyone may challenge Sponsor's math; corrections are published.
An entrant may withdraw at any time. Withdrawing ends the entry; published picks stay published.
These rules are governed by the laws of the state in which Know Your Tout LLC is organized. Any dispute is resolved there.
15. Not an endorsement
BetChecker is not a tout and does not sell picks. Entering the Challenge is not an endorsement by Sponsor, and passing it is a record of past prices, not a promise about future picks. If betting stops being fun, call 1-800-GAMBLER (US, free and confidential).
